Take Security into Your Own Hands and Get a HIPAA Risk Assessment

If the organization handles protected health information, or the IRC, the Department of Health and Human Services requires you to conduct a risk analysis as the first step toward implementing safeguards specified in the HIPAA Security Rule, and ultimately achieving HIPAA compliance.

This includes all HIPAA hosting providers.

But what does a risk analysis entail exactly? And what should be included in your report?

The Health and Human Services Security Standards Guide outlines nine mandatory components of a risk analysis.
Conducting a thorough HIPAA risk assessment is extremely difficult to do yourself, though. You may want to contract with a HIPAA auditor to help you.

Most people simply do not know where to look, or they end up bypassing things because they do not understand data security.

If the risk analysis is foundational to your security, then you do not want to see the key elements in the analysis.

There are nine components that healthcare organizations and healthcare-related organizations that store or transmit electronic protected health information must include in their document:

1. Scope of the Analysis

To identify your scope – in other words, flats within your organization.

This includes all ePHI – portable media, desktops and networks.

There are four main parts to consider when defining your scope.

Where PHI starts or enters your environment.
What happens to it once it’s in your system.
Where PHI leaves your entity.
Where the potential or existing leaks are.
2. Data Collection

Below is a list of places to get you started in the documentation of where PHI enters your environment.

Email: How many computers do you use, and who can log on to each of them?
Texts: How many mobile devices are there, and who theirs?
EHR entries: How many staff members are entering in data?
Faxes: How many fax machines do you have?
USPS: How is incoming mail handled?
New patient papers: How many papers are required to fill out? Do they do this at the front desk? Examination room? Somewhere else?
Business associate communications: How do business associates communicate with you?
Databases: Do you receive marketing databases of potential patients to contact?
It’s not enough to know only where PHI begins. You also need to know where it goes once it enters your environment.

To fully understand what happens to PHI in your environment, you have to record all hardware, software, devices, systems, and data storage locations that touch PHI in any way.

And then what happens when PHI leaves your hands? It is your job to ensure that it is transmitted or destroyed in the most secure way possible.

Once you know all the places where PHI is housed, transmitted, and stored, you’ll be better able to safeguard those vulnerable places.

Identify and Document Potential Vulnerabilities and Threats

Once you know what happens during the PHI lifecycle, it’s time to look for the gaps. These gaps create an environment for unsecured PHI to leak in or outside your environment.

The best way to find all possible leaks is to create a PHI flow diagram that documents all of the information you found above and lays it out in a graphical format.

Looking at a diagram makes it easier to understand PHI trails and to identify and document anticipated vulnerabilities and threats.

A vulnerability is a flaw in components, procedures, design, implementation, or internal controls. Vulnerabilities can be fixed.

Some examples of vulnerabilities:

Website coded incorrectly
No office security policies
Computer screens in view of public patient waiting areas
A threat is the potential for a person or thing to trigger a vulnerability. Most threats remain out of your control to change, but they must be identified in order to assess the risk.

Some examples of threats:

Geological threats, such as landslides, earthquakes, and floods
Hackers downloading malware onto a system
Actions of workforce members or business associates
Again, if you’re above-average in terms of compliance, you may only have a minimum understanding of vulnerabilities and threats. It’s crucial to ask a professional for help with your HIPAA risk assessment.

Assess Current Security Measures

Ask yourself what kind of security you are taking to protect your data.

From a technical perspective, this might include any encryption, two-factor authentication, and other security methods HIPAA hosting provider.

Since you now understand how PHI flows in your organization, and can better understand your scope. With that understanding, you can identify the vulnerabilities, the likelihood of threat occurrence and the risk.

Determine the Likelihood of Threat O

Go with Snow: Plan a Successful Ski School Trip

A successful school ski trip does not just happen. Every teacher who takes on the task knows that it takes planning and commitment to make sure everyone has a good time with snow! Success lies in the shoulders of those charged with the organization and, in order to make the schedule run smoothly and also offer an interesting prospect, the devil is very clear in the details.
Experts recommend early and systematic approaches to facilitate the logistics of school ski trips, to ensure that the slippery slope of the organization is navigable with ease. Go with Snow: Plan a Successful Ski School Trip

Setting a Budget

Setting a budget is very important to create a travel plan framework, and almost all other aspects depend on it. Working backwards is a very easy way to determine the right budget: how many parents or guardians are in a position to spend time on their child’s journey? This of course will depend on the demographic and water catchment areas of the school, but has a realistic figure to work in the most accurate way of managing costs from the start. Once the budget is set, it’s also a good idea to consult a Senior Leadership Team as they may be able to share valuable past experiences and suggestions. Get Students Involved

Involving students in the early stages of planning is a sure way to generate enthusiasm, but keeping them in the lead until departure can be a challenge in itself. Keep up-to-date with the conditions and facilities of the resort (both above and beyond the snow), show local videos and pictures, create regular social media posts during countdown (if any school guidelines), or make a PowerPoint presentation to give a detailed description of the resort and activities. And go heavy on the fun aspect!

Keep Everyone in the Circle

As registrations start rolling, it is very important that students, colleagues, parents or guardians are kept informed. Nightlife hosting information is an excellent tactic to ensure the lines of communication are opened, as well as the right moment to show presentations and travel.

French Cruise Secrets: Marne River

French Cruise Secrets: Marne River

River Marne has inspired artists, such as Cézanne and Pissarro, for many years, and continues to inspire everyone who meets today. Barging vacations in France are an ideal way to experience the rich history of Marne, as well as learn more about technical accomplishments that help make it an important trade route across the country. French Cruise Secrets: Marne River
To the Seine: The River Marne Basics

The French waterway is 514 kilometers long and starts in the Langres highlands. The river headed west, joining the famous Seine Seine in the upper reaches of Paris. On its way through the French countryside, Marne passes through a captivating location like Meaux – famous for its ‘Prince of Cheese’ brie – and Jouarre village, home to a stunning 12th century Benedictine monastery. Along with its centuries-old heritage, this French region has an impressive wine-growing tradition. French Cruise Secrets: Marne River

The oldest lotus in France?

The Canal de Cornillon at Meaux was built about 800 years ago at the beginning of the 13th century. This canal is the oldest in France and built as a 500m short cut, bypassing a very generous watering river. In the nineteenth century, Marne became an important trade route, connecting Paris with the eastern rivers, therefore many lateral canals were built to aid its navigation. The most impressive canal is the 64-kilometer Canal latéal à la Marne, which handles a height difference of over 30 meters with 15 keys.

What to Look For in Barge Vacations in France

If you are lucky enough to sail along Marne during your barge vacation in France, there are some sites you should not miss. The countryside around the river was very important in the second world war. In fact, Château-Thierry – best known for its multiple war graves and warnings – is at the center of the last German attack on WW1. Visit the funeral that runs in Belleau Wood, which was established in honor of the 4th Marine Brigade of the 2nd Army Division of the U.S. The remains of the nearby trenches and shell holes serve as a visual reminder of the battles that occurred in this area.

With a lighter note, you should visit the delightful city of Epernay – the Champagne capital (the drink!). The famous Avenue de Champagne is lined with impressive mansions and is home to the region’s most prestigious wine producers, if not the world. You’ll find people like Moët et Chandon, Mercier, Veuve Clicquot, Pol Roger and de Castellane. As you roam around town remember that over 200 underground cave miles are under your feet. Sprinkled with some of the world’s most whiny bubbly, some of these cellars are open for tours, a wonderful introduction to the Champagne magic world.

Perhaps this glimpse of Marne River culture and history has encouraged you to venture into its waters for the next barge vacation in France. French Cruise Secrets: Marne River

BRUSSELS – Brussels prosecutors said Sunday that ousted Catalan president Carles Puigdemont and four ex-regional ministers were taken into custody to start the process of their possible extradition to Spain.

The five presented themselves to the federal police at around 9 a.m. (3 a.m. ET), Brussels prosecutor’s office spokesman Gilles Dejemeppe. He said that they have not been arrested and that Puigdemont and the four members of his disbanded Cabinet will be heard by an investigative judge later in the day.

The Belgian judge will have to decide within 24 hours of what separatist politicians wanted in Spain on suspicion of independence for the northeastern Catalonia in violation of Spain’s Constitution.

Dejemeppe said the judge’s options range from “refusal to execute the European arrest, arresting the people involved, releasing them on conditions or under bail.” He said if they are arrested then they will be sent to jail as the extradition process continues. Dejemeppe said that the whole process from arrest to extradition, could take more than 60 days.

That delay could give Puigdemont time to participate, albeit from afar and in largely a symbolic capacity, in the regional snap election called by Spain’s government for Catalonia on Dec. 21.

A senior official of Puigdemont’s party, the center-right Democratic Party of Catalonia, said on Sunday that the party wanted Puigdemont to repeat as its candidate. Spanish government spokesman Inigo Mendez de Vigo has said that any politician can run in the election unless he has been convicted of a crime.

Puigdemont and the four ex-ministers fled to Belgium as part of an extraordinary crackdown to the region’s illegal secession claim.

A Spanish National Court judge issued a suspicion of five crimes, including rebellion, sedition and embezzlement, on Friday, a day after the same judge sent another former Catalan Cabinet members to jail without bail while her investigation continues. A ninth spent a night in jail and was freed after posting bail.

Puigdemont wrote in Dutch in his Twitter account on Saturday that he was “prepared to fully cooperate with Belgian justice following the European arrest warrant issued by Spain.”

Puigdemont’s lawyer in Brussels has already said that his client plans to fight extradition to Spain without requesting political asylum.

Political forces in Catalonia are hurryly jockeying for position to start a campaign that promises to be as bitter as it is decisive to Spain’s worst institutional crisis in nearly four decades.

Guide to Three Valleys: Our Favorite Ski Resort

Guide to Three Valleys: Our Favorite Ski Resort

Three Valleys is one of the best ski destinations in the world. Properly named, the region includes three valleys on the Tarentaise, which hosts eight individual resorts. With over 200 lifts and about 600km pistes to explore, Three Valleys is popular among visitors from around the world. Whether you are a novice skier or a sensation seeker, this resort has something for you. But with so many amazing resorts to choose from, how do you make a decision about where to spend your winter break?
Méribel

Méribel resort is divided into two parts. The beautiful and traditional village of Méribel is one of the more attractive French resorts, with many self-catering and catered ski huts to choose from. Higher above the valley, Méribel-Mottaret offers more ski-in skiing comforts to its inhabitants, but with aesthetic cost. Wherever you live, however, Méribel really offers something for everyone. The resort has a large selection of green, blue and red lines, with fantastic access to the rest of Three Valleys. Guide to Three Valleys: Our Favorite Ski Resort

La Tania

La Tania has a good reputation as a family resort that offers good value for money. The self-service and catered ski lodge at the base of the slope is perfect for those who do not want to carry heavy exercise equipment. Above the village, the trees provide a wonderful atmosphere for beginners to face easy green runs. Views of après in La Tania are limited, but Pub Le Ski Lodge regularly hosts live bands and offers happy hour daily.

St. Martin de Belleville

This small village exudes a relaxed and pleasant alpine atmosphere. Sitting in the sun loungers down the valley from Les Menuires, St. Martin de Belleville is a traditional mountain resort with bar, restaurant and self-service ski lodge and catered at the bottom of the central runway. Chairlifts provide quick and easy access to Les Menuires and over the ridge to Méribel, so this resort is perfect for middle skiers. If you like partying, you may want to go elsewhere, because après landscape does not exist in this lonely village.

Val Thorens

At 2300m altitude, Val Thorens provides snow-peak conditions throughout the year. Beginners can access free nursery slopes from the village center, with experienced skiers who benefit from a variety of different slopes. The only downside of the resort at this altitude is that there is little shelter in if the weather is badly set. Pistes Val Thorens sits atop a tree line, and a true ski purifier will not fail to appreciate the incredible path it has to offer.

Les Menuires

Unlike the rest of the Three Valleys, visitors to Les Menuires are predominantly French, so staying here will ensure a more authentic French experience. Architecturally it is not the most attractive resort, with concrete apartment blocks dominating the horizon in the village. But the 160 km pistes test will help medium and advanced skiers, who also benefit from easy access to Méribel with the Three Valleys lift lanes. Beginners are not forgotten – there are special nurseries that run to help them hone their skills in peace. Unless the snow is nice, however, they may struggle to find enough blues that are easy to continue.

Wherever You Choose …

Whichever resort you choose in Three Valleys, it is important to choose the type of accommodation that best suits you. Three Valleys has a fantastic selection of self-catering and catered ski lodges, so you can choose the best option to suit your budget and needs. Whatever you choose, a trip to Three Valleys skiing must be a vacation of a lifetime.

5 reasons to hire professional window cleaners

Whether you want to impress the guests at the next dinner party or just improve the street charm of your home, no one likes the sharp view of cloudy or lined windows.

Hiring professional window cleaners has many advantages, and we have listed the top five below.

Let’s get into it!

Why Hire Professional Window Cleaners
Extend Windows Quality

Cleaning windows regularly helps them last longer. This is because window treatments eliminate the accumulation of dirt and corrosion. They also target an aluminum deposit that can weaken the window and cause cracks.

Although professional window cleaners may cost more than you are now, you may be saving more money in the long run. Talk about win-win.

This is a Very Difficult Job

Honestly here When was the last time you cleaned your windows thoroughly? Do not remember Do not worry about it. We promise not to be alone.

Cleaning the windows is boring, difficult, and time-consuming, especially if you have tall windows and need to move the stairs. This is also the last thing you want to worry about if you need to sell your house quickly.

That’s not to mention the frequent darting potential with unnecessary squeegeeing techniques.

This is where experts, like LaborPanes, enter. They handle a tiring job with a smile. You enjoy a beautiful and clean window.

Safety first

We mentioned that the workforce behind window cleaning is very tedious. By saying that it can also be very dangerous.

The risk of falling off the stairs, especially when reaching an awkward angle, and trying to balance different weights, is a very serious danger. Just because you know how to use a ladder does not mean you know how to do a difficult job with someone.

Windows can break, especially if you’re not sure what you do when cleaning, and we all know that broken glass is very risky.

Finally, the harsh chemicals used to clean the windows can be toxic to you and your family, especially if you are not wearing the appropriate dental shield.

The aesthetic appeal is unbeatable

Filthy windows can make the whole place look “dead.” If you want to improve your beer appeal, especially if you are in the process of selling, professional window cleaning is not a problem.

Dirt and dirt can cause damage, and both do not look attractive to you or your guests for viewing. In other words, this is just one part of home care that you do not want to miss.

Keep Sunshine and Bugs Out

Professional window cleaners are experts at detecting annoying and annoying creatures seeping into the window gap.

Ever seen behind a dirty window shutter and spotted a dusty spider’s web or hive? What about a bunch of dead flies?

Final Thought
Professional window cleaning is one of the best choices you can take to maintain your home beauty and security.

If you’re bored with windows that line up or spend all day doing it on your own, consider leaving the job with a professional. We’re sure you will not regret it!

Not a beautiful sight to your home. Hiring professionals eliminates these annoying and potentially harmful tasks for you.

5 Issues Authors Run Into That Require Legal Support

The art of writing as a career is a free expression of your thoughts, beliefs, experiences, and imagination for a profit.

However, as liberal as this profession may seem, it still has to play by the rules.

Writers can sometimes find themselves in need of legal support if they are not aware of the industry’s general do’s and don’ts.

Here Are 5 Issues Authors May Need Legal Support to Address
1. Copyright Issues

The best way to avoid copyright is to only publish your own work, but what about when you need something to support your writing?

This may be an image or a fact to add some credibility to the article or book you are working on. Always reach out to the source you want to cite.

When in doubt, use a trusted third party or practice Fair Use.

Instead of finding a random image from a search engine, sign up for a stock image or hire a photographer to your own private stock.

2. Trademark Infringement

Trademark infringement may unintentionally cause you to need legal support. It is the unauthorized use of a trademark or brand in connection to something which may cause confusion.

Have you ever told someone to “just Google” a random fact, or “use a Kleenex” to blow their nose? This may be fine for the trade infringement.

If you are ever writing about a real-life situation in which someone is using a brand, try to create a fictional alternative to avoid needing legal support.

3. Privacy Rights

Another thing to be cautious about when relating true stories is the respect for privacy protection.

The United States has specific rights about disclosing another person’s private information such as medical or financial situations. Also, consider personal matters which may be considered sensitive or embarrassing.

Ask yourself if you are the subject how it would feel to have your private business counsel before publishing.

4. Contract Challenges

When working with a publisher, always double check the contract negotiations and rights.

Are you signing away movie and television rights? How much control will you have in the editing process before the final draft is confirmed?

The best way to avoid needing legal support is to have a consistent, open line of communication with publishers.

When both parties understand submission deadlines, revision guidelines, and updating rights, the smoother the writing process becomes.

5. Registration of Your Copyright

Copyright exists as soon as you put something out in the world. Whether it be as a freelance writer, online blogger, or published author, the moment you put your name on it, it’s yours.

You reserve the right to authorize others to use your words and information. However, sometimes copyright issues arise.

The best way to protect your writing is to register your copyright. This may require some legal funding, but it is well worth the investment; it’s like insurance for your work.

Production Information System Creation

Production Information System Creation

Production data processing is one factor that has a very role
important in building and developing production information system. Other than that,
processing of production data also becomes a very decisive thing in
making various forms of production reports, which will eventually become
size to assess the production processes occurring in a manufacturing industry and
services. Patient data processing done manually is a thing
which is less efficient and effective, but it is also unable to guarantee accuracy
counting, controlling the ongoing production process, recapitulation and
generated report system.
The rapid development of information technology makes it possible to
do the manufacture of computer-based information system, so it can
making it easy for businesses in the manufacturing and service industries
in managing production data. The software in this study was developed
with Visual Basic 6.0 and Microsoft SQL Server database management system

The software testing that has been done is known that this program
can be easily operated, has a fairly clear workflow,
provides a variety of facilities that greatly assist the user’s work within
control production. Increased production process that occurred reached 60%.
In addition, this production information system can also serve as input for
corporate management for the decision-making process.

Modern production always involves structural and functional components. System

Production Information System Creation

production has some of the following characteristics:
1. Have components or elements that are related
to each other and form a unified whole. This is related
with the structural components that built the production system.
2. Have an objective underlying its existence, which is to produce the product

What is Diesel Exhaust Fluid? Who needs it?

Here are a few quizzes:

When will emissions rules produce better trucks?

If you answered, “What about the 2008 Clean Air Act Standard or the Clean Air Act Standard”, you can stop reading. You probably already know everything in this post.

For the rest of you, the answer is, “When it becomes clear that diesel exhaust, or DEF, is an important part of the solution to emissions problems.

Everyone who’s ever driven behind an older bus or semi-belching smoke and diesel exhaust knows the problem: Diesel engines are dirty and smelly.

That’s the price we pay for power and torque that the gasoline engine can not be the same.

DEF brought the price down.

This is the reason.

Diesel Penalty …
The combustion takes place on the gasoline engine cylinder when the spark ignites a mixture of fuel and air.

A diesel does not use sparks. Instead, it greatly compresses the slimmer air fuel mixture.

This is a high level of compression that causes the fuel to ignite.

Unfortunately, the compression ignition process also produces higher emissions of harmful nitrogen (NO) and particulate oxides.

… And the solution
To meet air quality standards that call for lower NO levels, manufacturers adopt an approach called “selective catalytic reduction,” or SCR.

With SCR, a small amount of liquid is sprayed into the exhaust stream. The chemical reactions that occur convert NO emissions into nitrogen and harmless water.

Actually, coming out of a solar exhaust using an SCR may be cleaner than going into the machine in the first place.

That’s very helpful in 2010. It’s important in 2017 when regulations call for a 90% reduction in the allowable nitrous oxide from the muffler.

The magic responsible for the reduction is DEF: a 32.5% ammonia solution in ionized water. And it is a powerful (and somewhat misunderstood) solution to a serious problem.

What you need to know
DEF lives in a reservoir in your vehicle, which usually accommodates about five gallons.

In GM’s heavy duty truck, customers get about 1,000 miles per gallon of DEF. Heavy transport or towing can increase the level of DEF consumption as well as on fuel.

In consumer vehicles, DEF can be consumed at a speed of about 2.5 gallons per 800 miles of driving.

DEF tank must be kept at least partially full at any time. Many diesel engines will not operate more than 4-5 MPH if the tank dries. Other people will not run away at all.

Fortunately, it should not be a problem, as most manufacturers provide gauges, digital readings or “low-level liquid” warnings on IP.

And keep the tank terminated easily and relatively cheaply.

Manufacturers have built DEF services into their scheduled maintenance specifications. So the liquid can be terminated when the owner brings their vehicle to a scheduled service.

And DIY-ers can easily maintain their own DEF level, just like a washing machine fluid. The liquid is readily available at dealerships, truck stops and auto parts, usually around $ 5 / gallon.

Truck stops often have DEF pumps on their fuel island.

Reversed
Perhaps the biggest misconception about DEF is that this is an obstacle to performance.

Actually, the opposite is happening. Manufacturers have tuned their diesel engines so that DEF really optimizes combustion.

That means better fuel efficiency, more power, less machine wear and high reliability.

And there is another myth:

DEF evaporates quickly. (Actually, it evaporates very slowly.)

This is a bottleneck on mileage. (In fact, it offers better mileage than most other emission reduction systems The manufacturer estimates a five percent mileage.)

It’s poisonous. (Actually, this is less toxic than many other liquids used in the vehicle, and has been used for many years in commercial trucks and ag industries.)

Some Warnings
While DEF is good for newer machines with DEF systems, there is no point in old diesel engines lacking such a system.

And DEF should not be added directly to fuel. It’s corrosive and can reduce your fuel system to a worthless piece.

That’s why some manufacturers give access beneath to the system. The others provide a separate filler neck next to the fuel cap.

Either way, if you suspect your fuel has been contaminated with DEF, do not ignite the ignition to the accessories, which can activate the fuel system.

Instead, take the withdrawn vehicle, without starting, to the workshop. Ask them to flush the fuel tank, then again enjoy the power of diesel, torque, and possible reliability

This collection of porcelain art in Jingdezhen, the porcelain capital of China is a breath-taking sight of ingenuity – the Sanbao Art Museum!
Sanbao village, a scenic place not far from the Central City of Jingdezhen in China, hosts a nascent, dynamic, porcelain-centric hub with porcelain artists’ studios and porcelain-related industries, causing a highly competitive environment, where it takes great ingenuity and endless efforts to be the best. The relationship between the artists and their creation is sort of romantic, like the feeling of first love: indirect probing, exploring, negotiating and subtle manoeuvring. And the transformation in the pottery kilns is like the process of developing films – full of uncertainties; like the photographers’ having projected their best imaginations onto the films, but results will be unravelled only after the mandatory stint in the dark room!

But it is these very risks and uncertainties that mandate detail and delicacy; brain power juxtaposed against a passionate song in the heart… romanticism at its best!

An art museum in this milieu not just builds an interactive space to encourage reciprocal communication between visitors and the space, both emotionally and behaviourally, it inculcates sensitivity and imagination. The museum is a visually linear shape, 150m long, but the visiting flow is nonlinear, with visitors having multiple paths to explore. The purpose is to boost serendipity between people and spaces. Architecture creates the atmosphere with which visitors have personal connections. Walls, the most important part at shaping exhibition space and atmosphere, are made of rammed earth to offer a poetic feeling. The main passage is a long transparent space, 100m; around which rammed-earth walls, 4m high, grow from earth.

Major materials used in building the museum, such as rammed earth, titanium zinc panels and travertine, will be eroded by time. This process of erosion is like the fermentation of wine, time gives its unique flavour. In addition, Sanbao village naturally produces unique soil, slightly red in colour, so the continuous loam walls are built with local clay, delivering a certain familiarity and tension.

Experiences vary, when visitors walk through different areas, attracted by the outstretched eaves after the woods area. The sound from the creeks relaxes, whilst what lies ahead leads visitors further into a cryptic but joyful world. Every tour becomes a story between visitors and architecture – a mix of discovery, expectation, waiting, anxiety, disappointment and joy. DL atelier is the recent winner of the American Architecture Price (cultural architecture category),
